Frequency Asked Questions About Vehicle Wraps

What is a vehicle wrap and how is it made ?

A vehicle wrap, wrap advertising or mobile billboard on wheels is the practice of covering (wrapping) a vehicle in an advertisement, design or a company brand. Vehicle graphic wraps can be used on any type of vehicle, be it a car, truck, van, trailer, boat, motorcycle, bus, etc.

Commonly know as a vinyl car wrap or skin, we begin by first creating custom designed artwork using state of the art computer technology and professional design programs to create a design layout to match your vehicle and your business needs.

After the artwork is completed, and approved, we then continue the process by printing it using special large format printers made exclusively for adhesive backed film prints or wraps as you would call it. The film is then cut out to your vehicle shape, laminated and then carefully installed on your vehicle to match all the body panels and contours of your vehicle, which in turn also protects the original paint.

How long does a vehicle wrap last and how do I clean it ?

Typically it will last up to 5 years or more depending on the climate and the care of the wrap. The best way to keep a wrap clean is using mild soap, hand washing using a sponge or rag to clean it. Power washing can be done, but not advised and caution should be used during cleaning with any high pressure washer systems.

Do I have to wrap all of the vehicle ?

No, there is several different types of wraps available.

Complete wrap: this wrap covers the entire surface of the vehicle and can also cover glass surfaces with a perforated window film (window perfs) without impacting the drivers visibility.

Three quarters wrap: this wrap covers most of the sides of the vehicle and extends around to the back end of a vehicle and also includes a hood logo.

Window graphics: using window film to cover windows with a logo, name or design.

Vinyl lettering / graphic design: lettering, a graphic design or logo applied to your vehicle.

Can a wrap be removed, re-used and will it damage my vehicles paint ?

It is completely removable, causing no damage to the underlying vehicle. (Mad Towne Wraps is also equipped to handle this type of job if you need to remove your wrap.) If part of your wrap becomes damaged by a accident, we can replace or fix the damaged wrap area. Once the wrap is removed it can not be re-used again. Paint damage is not a problem as the wrap actually protects the original factory paint from scratches and sun damage.

What are the benefits of a wrap ?

Car wraps, truck wraps, vans, trailers and all other types of vehicle wraps are a big part of the next advertising wave. This type of advertising is highly visible and highly effective. The price is reasonable and there is no continuous costs, once the graphics are in place there is nothing more to pay.

I lease my vehicle, can I wrap it ?

Jackpot, a leased vehicle for your business is a tax write off and wrapping it gives you a advertising tax write off as well.

As part as an overall marketing strategy, vehicle wrapping has unbeatable advertising benefits for your business.
